I am a freelance science writer based in Santa Barbara, CA. I trained at the University of California in Santa Barbara as a scientist in the Molecular Cellular and Developmental Biology Department and worked at UCSB as a post doctoral fellow and project scientist before staying home with my two children. My interest in neuroscience and biology is reflected in my current pieces.
When I'm not sitting at the computer, I'm outdoors surfing, hiking or catching leaping kids.
I hope to return to research someday. In the mean time, I enjoy having lunch with former co-workers and reading/writing about other people's research.
